Details

I just installed the Debian package "Mozilla-snapshot" (I already had the Mozilla 0.9.9 suite installed). When I try to open Mozilla-Mail (CVS), I get an error message : "unable to locate file /usr/lib/mozilla-snapshot/chrome/packages/messenger/messenger.xul" and a blank window opens. The directory /usr/lib/mozilla-snapshots/chrome exists, but not the subdirectory "packages". [This message and problem also occurs when I attempt to open my regular (0.9.9) Mozilla-Mail, but only if I have a Mozilla-snapshot [build 2002032404] window open.] (I have a Libranet Debian distribution installed, kernel 2.4.3, and have been using the Debian/testing ftp site to get my "deb" packages.)
Debian-Bug, not Mozilla-Bug.
Hi Sam, first, things often won't work if you install a version of Mozilla when one is already installed - you must do a clean install each time. Running multiple Mozilla versions risks you losing some of your profile ! Second, the Debian Mozilla package makes some changes from what the Mozilla project distributes, so this isn't the right bug tracker. You have two options : 1) reproduce the problem in a mozilla.org snapshot / release, if you can 2) report your problem on the Debian bug tracker I would say 2) is the best here. Sorry to "fob you off" on this. If you can reproduce the problem with a mozilla.org build, please do re-open the bug. Thanks.
