Because MailNews doesn't include trailing punctuation [.,;!?-] in URLs...
MailNews also excludes <>[\]^(){|}`'" which is a larger set than Chatzilla.

Proposed Patch
looks good, but I'd like to see at least one other person try it out before
giving r=. I don't have time at the moment. Maybe ssieb does?

I have problems with this in my Norwegian localisation, which uses «these» quotes. Preferably all the Unicode punctuation characters (there is a least at unicode.org) should be supported.
