Steps to reproduce:

Set your NTP to be a blank tab in the cog-menu. Open new tab.


Actual results:

Sometimes the search bar from the non-blank NTP is shown briefly.


Expected results:

It should just show a blank tab. It appears that it first renders the non-blank NTP, only to then remove elements from it. That's an odd order of events. Occasionally it also shows other elements before it removes them, such as items from the cog-menu.

I've recorded a video in which it happens twice.

I am seeing this too in latest Trunk 58.0a1 (2017-09-22) (64-Bit) on MacOS 10.12.6.

Steps to reproduce:

1.) Set the Browser First Start Page to a Blank Page.
2.) CMD-N to open a new Window (page has the creme-color-background of the NTP)
3.) Open a new Tab in the same window (Page has also the  creme-color-background of the NTP)
4.) Now close the new opened Tab from step 3

Result: The first Tab of the new window from step 2 is now completely white.

This is fixed in FF57. Both with the new activity-stream tab and the previous tab-style (as in FF56).

NOT RESOLVED!!!

In FF57 its the same.

I've turned off all the unneeded noise you want to show to people on new tab page.
I've set it to blank page.

And when I open a new tab page with CTRL/CMD+N it briefly shows a search bar and only then become blank.

This is increadibly annoyng.

You're right. I opened a few new tabs after upgrading to FF57 and it didn't occur. I notice it regularly now.
