Since no one touched this piece in four years, it feels like we need a separate bug to track this. Steps on how to test the new changes, server side, and how to deploy. There's some stuff on this on Mana as well.

Note that a staging instance might be useful in the future. If not to run constantly, at least one we can bring up easily to test.

Rail already did this last week. I think mana page also suffices[1]. Since we're trying to kill this anyway, not sure how much worth investment this is.
