Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041711 Pretty much whenever adding a new type to the helper applications and then somehow making use of the "Choose" button in the "New Type" dialog, the window underneath the preferences dialog pops to the foreground. Usually this window is the main Mozilla window and so the preferences dialog seems to disappear, while it's really in the background. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new helper application type, and enter something random as a MIME-type 2. Click on the "Choose" button and then on the cancel button(it doesn't seem to matter whether you actually select a helper application or not). 3. Click on "OK" in the "New Type" dialog Actual Results: In my case, this made the window underneath the preferences dialog pop to the foreground, every time I did it. Probably important note: there is one case where this doesn't happen while using the "Choose" button: 1. Create a new helper application, but this time don't enter a MIME-type (at this point it doesn't seem to matter if you use the "Choose" button or not) 2. Click the "OK" button, this will give an error message stating that a MIME-type needs to be entered 3. If you now enter a MIME-type,use the "Choose" button and then OK the "New Type" dialog, the preferences dialog behaves normally
I've also tested this on the Linux version: it doesn't happen there.
Reporter: Can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of Mozilla (for example, 1.4 RC1)? If so, then please comment again with details. If not, then please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks.
I've tried this with 1.4a, and the bug isn't occuring anymore.
