Hey Peiying, Flod and Théo
Hope you all are doing well. Can you please localize the snippets below by September 4th. I’ve added written context to each snippet and mock ups for the snippets that have already run. Please let me know if you need anything else from my end.
Thanks!

Firefox Screenshots
Link: https://screenshots.firefox.com/#hello
Say goodbye to you complex screenshot hack. Screenshots is a new way to save and share within Firefox. <a>Learn more.</a>
Context: The statement "Say goodbye to you complex screenshot hack" is our way of letting users know that they will no longer need to bother with their old more tedious method of taking and sharing screenshots.
Screenshots is a better way to screenshot. Save and share cool stuff without leaving Firefox. <a>Learn More. </a>
Context: This snippet is attempting to tell the user that they should use Firefox Screenshots because it is an easy way to save and share interesting images online. "Cool" in this context means the quality of being fashionably attractive or impressive.
FX 55
Link:https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
1 processor, 4 processors, 7 processors? In Firefox 55, <a>the choice is yours.</a>
Context: We want users to know that they are using the latest release of Firefox (Firefox 55) and that they have the ability to customize Firefox. The most important thing to illustrate in this snippet is that the user is in control.
Firefox for mobile.
We'll be using the send to device widget for these.
Clickbait? Please, we wouldn’t stoop so low. In other news, you won’t believe how fast Firefox for iOS is.
Download now to find out for yourself.
Context: Clickbait is content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page. Clickbait garners clicks by posing questions or making extraordinary claims. Usually, the content attached to clickbait is sub par. The snippet mocks regular clickbait headlines by first saying that we would never consider being clickbait then saying something that sounds like clickbait "you won’t believe how fast Firefox for iOS is."
Problem: straining your eyes while scrolling through the internet at night. Solution: Night Mode. Do your eyes a favor and get Firefox on your iPhone.
Context: this snippet highlights the Night Mode feature on Firefox for iOS. Night Mode makes it easier to read on an iPhone at night when the phone screen is the brightest light in the room. Getting Firefox for iOS will help users eyes feel less strained while reading at night.
Browse without boundaries
Context: this headline lets users know they can search the web freely by using Firefox on their mobile devices. The English version is an alliteration. Not required but it would be nice if we could use an alliteration in other locals. The most important thing about this snippet headline is that it is a short line that instills a sense of adventure in our users.
Want to browse fast on your mobile too?
Context: The question posed in this snippet headline "Want to browse fast on your mobile too?" lets users know that they could be enjoying the benefits of Firefox on their mobile devices as well as their desktop computers.
Send Firefox to your mobile device for better browsing on the go.
Context: We want to quickly illustrate to users that they could be having a great mobile browsing experience if they downloaded Firefox on their mobile device.
Firefox Focus
We'll be using the send to device widget for these.
Browse for something secret
Context: this snippet headline lets a user know that they can trust Focus to keep their secrets.
Try Firefox Focus, the lightweight mobile browser that lets you explore the web without a trace.
Context: Firefox focus won't take up a lot of space on a user phone and doesn't require a lot of data to download. This value prop tested well in sections of the world where data costs are high. The line "explore the web without a trace." highlights that Firefox Focus is first and foremost a private browser. We want users to know that they can trust Focus to keep their secrets.
Want to browse faster on the go?
Context: this headline is pretty straightforward. It's setting up the body copy that will let users know that Firefox Focus is a fast mobile browser.
Snippets for profile age test.
Power up Firefox with Add-ons. Choose from dozens of customizations for privacy, social, gaming, and a whole lot more.
Link:
Context: In this snippet "Power up" means to make better, to improve. The logic is that by customizing Firefox with add ons the user is making his/her browser even better.
Hey, nice work choosing Firefox for your webby journeys. Not all heroes wear capes and by browsing with us, you're helping <a>build a better internet.</a>
Link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/internet-health/#utm_source=desktop-snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=profile-age-test&utm_term=7030&utm_content=rel
Context: This is a welcome message for new users (we'll probably test this snippet with established users as well). This snippet is meant to congratulate users on their excellent choice in browsers. "webby journey" simply means all of your browsing on the internet or adventures online. "Not all heroes wear capes" is referencing the capes worn by superheroes in movies and comic books. The expression means that something might not necessarily look impactful or important, but it can help fight for good in a major way. This snippet highlights to users that by using a product made by Mozilla that they are helping to improve the internet.
Open a private window in Firefox to browse freely and keep away the trackers.
Link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history#utm_source=desktop-snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=profile-age-test&utm_term=7028&utm_content=REL
Context: This snippet lets users know how to enable Private browsing in Firefox. The idea here is that using private browsing mode frees users from their restraints and allows them to search the web however they see fit without fear of being tracked by third parties.
Browse boldly. Sign up for a Firefox Account to access your protected passwords, open tabs and bookmarks on all your devices.
Browse boldly. Sign into your Firefox Account to access your protected passwords, open tabs and bookmarks on all your devices.
Link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/accounts/#utm_source=desktop-snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=profile-age-test&utm_term=7023&utm_content=REL
Context: these two snippets are similar but one is clearly for users who already have a Firefox account, and the other is for users who haven't signed up yet. "Browse boldly" is meant to sound adventurous, it is our way of telling users that they can search the internet however they want. The rest of the snippet is letting users know what kind of convenient features they will have access to by using a Firefox account.
Discover new search engine choices (or add more). Visit Firefox > Preferences > Search in your dropdown menu.

Context: This snippet shows users that Firefox is customizable.
Delight
No Link
Playing a musical instrument can relieve stress, enhance creativity and has the added benefit of making you look super cool.
Context: This snippet is meant to be amusing. The humor comes from telling users two tangible benefits of playing a musical instrument then stating an intangible benefit. The line "look super cool" in this context means appealing and attractive.

Replace the snippet for Firefox 55 with this one:
Fine tune your browser with the new performance panel. <a>Learn more.</a>
Link:https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
Context: fine tune being a reference to tinkering on a mechanical engine to optimize performance.
Also the mockups from the gdoc are attached to the bug for reference.

Hey Wes, just a few notes:
- For the performance snippet, “Preferences” is macOS/Linux specific, on Windows you will want to use “Options”. Translations of the menu item can be found here https://transvision.mozfr.org/string/?entity=browser/chrome/browser/customizableui/customizableWidgets.properties:preferences-button.labelWin&repo=release
- For the funny “Clickbait” snippet, I’ve added <a></a> tags in French (they were missing) because it’s way better to put the link here. I’m also confident people will find this one funny :) I had some fun writing clickbait-style!
- Following our quick chat the other day, I’m now using in the translations instead of the UTF-8 character, you may want to check on staging first (or Nightly) that there is no issue. I can quickly revert this change if needed, just ping me.
Thanks!
