Steps to reproduce: - Create account on desktop. Don’t verify it. - Signin on iOS - Confirm email on desktop browser - Mobile displays checkmark to say that it is verified (so far so good) - Hit back and return to Settings on iOS - In Setttings, under the email, it says “Enter your password to connect.” in orange. - If we click on the email in settings, it asks for password again. Expected results: - iOS browser is still logged in Might be related to Bug 1380190

Alex, can you reproduce this? I tried using the latest TestFlight version but could not. Steps: - Create account on desktop. Don't verify it. - Sign-in on iOS - Opened account confirm email on desktop browser - Mobile displays checkmark to say that it is verified - Hit back and return to Settings on iOS Actual results: - In Settings, under the email, shows “Enter your password to connect.” for a slight second then account becomes connected - If we click on the email in settings, it takes you to settings view

We reproduced this yesterday’s Sync Fest but with slightly different steps: 1. register for sync on ios 2. verify on a different device 3. press done on account verified screen EXPECTED RESULTS - iOS is now syncing ACTUAL RESULTS - Does not appear to Sync until preferences section is visited. Enters verified state at that point and not before.
I confirm that I can reproduce it. I recorded the flow on my phone. It did it on the first shot. (so I'm 2 for 2) Check it out here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6vhhRrrq09MQ0d0Z3FxZWhpemc You can see the checkmark appear when I confirm on Desktop. I return to Settings and it looks like my email is still unconfirmed. Additional details: - I got a confirmation email on registration on desktop AND on login on iOS - I confirmed on the first email received from desktop - Tested with Firefox 9.0 (5725) on iOS 11 and Desktop Nightly 57.0a1 (2017-09-08) (64-bit)

Apologies for the long pause in the recording (just noticed). I was realizing that I'd received 2 emails. I was also double checking the steps listed in Comment 1 to make sure I was repeating them faithfully. Unfortunately I couldn't record the whole screen since I was recording iPhone screen from QuickTime.
This seems to work now. Not sure what we changed though. I can't replicate it anymore.
