afaik they'd be able to reply via email too (needs checking) ni:jorge to clarify if support users should be able to reply to review activity or not. (Or if we need 4 different classes of add-on 'author' anyway)
Yes, we need to revisit the authorship classes at some point. For now, I think Developers and Owners should be the ones allowed to do this. If that takes too much work, I don't mind being more permissive.
