There seems to be a language problem here, what do you mean by "map"? Can you take (small) screen shot and attach it with "Attach File"?
Is this on an IMAP account? And yes, please explain what a 'map' in a folder is.
Yes, this is on an IMAP account, and map is another name for folder or subfolder, appologies for that.
So you're saying: With TB 52.3 you create a subfolder of an IMAP folder and that doesn't show up in the folder tree. Please check the subscribed folders by right-clicking on the account and looking at "Subscribe". Also, under "Tools > Account Settings" check the "Advanced" server settings and whether all or only subscribed folders should be shown. In any case, I can't reproduce this. A new subfolder shows up and is subscribed to immediately. Gene, any ideas?

Apologies, again I explained myself incorrectly, it concerns an IMAP account, however not an IMAP folder but any (sub)folder I try to create under the rootfolder (emailaccount). For example, when I try to organise some of the emails in my inbox (IMAP folder) by creating a custom folder named 'emails from work' that folder does not show up in the folder tree. I already checked subscribed folders as well ass advanced server settings.
You typically cannot create a new folder below the account level at the same level of the Inbox. New folders are created as subfolders of the Inbox. That may vary depending on IMAP providers.
Does it happen if you start thunderbird in safe mode? - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
