From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041711 Rfc1 build will inevitably start corrupting window elements in browser. Buttons, menu, page contents get redrawn in the wrong places, or don't properly move when the whole window is scrolled/moved, or don't get drawn at all, showing underlying windows. Not page-specific. Page reload doesn't fix, minimize/restore doesn't fix, close window doesn't even fix if quick load is set (next quick restart will still get corrupted). Full exit of quick load and complete restart will fix for a while. Eventually happens again. Saw this very rarely on 0.99 builds a few weeks ago, much more common in rfc1. Bad, makes user experience uncool. Memory leak? .99 builds were better, need to fix this before general 1.0! Tried to screen capture, but for some reason screen capture shows only B&W!? Perhaps a display driver issue? did see this on NS6 rarely (once or twice over months) also. Not a prob in other apps, but might go surf for new vid driver. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. surf around. Browser windows eventually corrupt. 2. Seems to happen after shifting focus to other apps, a minimize, or just switching windows in mozilla. Actual Results: Browser windows/chrome eventually corrupt. Expected Results: Browser windows/chrome not corrupt. Was initially using 1.0 'pinball' theme, but problem occurs using Modern also.
wfm with win2k and all build I ever used. Reporter: Which Graphic Card Do you use (and older ATI Card ?) Have you installed RC1 over an older build ? If yes try this: uninstall mozilla, delete all not deleted files in c:\program\mozilla.org\ 8but save your plugins first !) and reinstall Mozilla. And please try also a new profile : (run "mozilla -profilemanager" and create an additional test profile) BTW: Pinnball is currently broken for Mailnews (you can only open Mailnews 1x)
This sounds exactly like bug 133132, which I have experienced for several months. The redraw problem and black-and-white images are both mentioned in that bug. If the behavior gets better after clearing the Memory Cache, it's definately the same bug.
Update. I uninstalled the old version of Adobe Type Manager I had put in to get access to a Type 1 font for another task, and the corruption stopped occurring. So I guess it was actually a ATM incompatibility vs a Mozilla bug (a newer version of ATM doesn't cause the corruption).
