Steps to reproduce:

i opened 4 tabs in private windows. i started running privacy badger and hoxx vpn.


Actual results:

when i started to browse in all the tabs suddenly the browser gets slow and sometimes i didn't response for me.The tabs didn't work normally.


Expected results:

The gets working normally.

RESOLVED:INVALID because this seems to be a problem with Privacy Badger code and not Private Browsing.

I was able to reproduce the original bug (slow unresponsive browser and even a Windows VM crash) by opening 4 tabs in regular windows (to bbc.com, wired.com, economist.com, and reddit.com) with a fresh install of Privacy Badger. Privacy Badger has an open issue for Firefox performance already: https://github.com/EFForg/privacybadger/issues/1707

I was unable to reproduce unresponsiveness in either Private or regular browsing. Here is my captured performance profile: https://perfht.ml/2zCI3hL. Here are the steps I took:

1. Open Firefox 57 in a fresh profile.
2. Install the profiling add-on from https://perf-html.io/.
3. Install Privacy Badger from https://www.eff.org/privacybadger.
4. Open four tabs, each with one of http://www.bbc.com/, https://www.economist.com/, https://www.reddit.com/ and https://www.wired.com/ typed but not yet submitted in the address bar.
5. Start recording with the profiling add-on.
6. Visit each of the four tabs and hit Enter in the address bar.
7. Wait until tabs finish loading.
8. Capture the recorded profile, wait until symbols resolve, click the share button.

I do observe high CPU use, but I also observe high CPU use with a blank copy of Firefox alone loading those four sites. I am sure Privacy Badger adds overhead, but I am unable to reproduce hanging or freezing.

This is on "bare metal" Linux, not a VM.
