I'm trying to build Firefox the current master from https://github.com/mozilla/gecko-dev (most recent attempt done at commit 43bc951ac7dfe7), on mac.

The build fails with this first error I believe (the final part of the build log is attached for all details):

error: failed to run custom build command for `style v0.0.1 (file:///Users/daniel/src/gecko-dev/servo/components/style)`

I'm open for suggestions and ideas on both work-arounds and real fixes. This annoys me a lot...
You should try running "xcode-select --install". Adding the --disable-stylo configure option is also a possibility if that doesn't work.

Is this a newish Mac? We've know that this problem exists, but we haven't been able to narrow down what causes it.

Sorry, I totally missed to include machine info!

This is a mac mini. Maybe 18 months old so not terribly new.

  Xcode 8.3.3 Build version 8E3004b
  System Version: macOS 10.12.6 (16G29)
  Kernel Version: Darwin 16.7.0

"xcode-select --install" doesn't seem to make anything different. Disabling stylo is an okay work-around for me as my work is totally separate and independent from that. Thanks!

Thanks for testing, but it's strange that didn't address the problem...it usually works. What does your /usr/include look like?

Summary: error: failed to run custom build command for style v0.0.1 → stylo: error: failed to run custom build command for style v0.0.1
Uh sorry, I issued that command over ssh and didn't realize it popped up a dialogue on screen as it returned instantly! =) (I first wrongly presumed it exited fast because it was already installed)

Having realized that, I let it install properly and yes, "xcode-select --install" seems to have fixed the problem for me. Thanks!
