User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0
Build ID: 20170831165232

Steps to reproduce:

After the fix for Bug #1377950, Firefox reacts to compositing state toggling by redrawing every open tab, which produces a very visible blinking.

Actual results:

Rather unpleasant blinking effect.

Expected results:

Compositing state can change for a number of reasons, such as explicit toggling, full-screen applications like video players and games turning it on and off when they are maximized and restored and so on.

There should be some way to avoid that blinking (may be redrawing can happen in background, like double buffer style effect?).

Component: Untriaged → Graphics
Product: Firefox → Core

This may have changed slightly from when this was first reported, but my experience with it is that the windows blank out until they brought into focus, at which point they are redrawn.
