It looks like this happens sometimes. Last time I noticed this on this very website.

It happens here on bugzilla when you middle click on an item in the dropdown menu which opens when you click on the arrow beside the username. (You need to be logged in.)
I don't think autoscroll should be enabled in this case.

Confirmed. This is not a regression from APZ autoscrolling, though; the behaviour is present with main-thread autoscrolling as well.

I agree.

I'm moving the bug to the Toolkit :: XUL Widgets component, as that's where other autoscrolling-related bugs (that are unrelated to APZ) seem to be.
Component: Panning and Zooming → XUL Widgets
Product: Core → Toolkit
Fx40 and earlier:
When click middle mouse button on the dropdown, the dropdown rool up and autoscroll starts.

Fx41 and later:
When click middle mouse button on the dropdown, the dropdown does not rool up and autoscroll starts.
Finally, the dropdown protrudes outside the viewport.
