We are currently passing a whole lot of env vars to the webapp, and it is unclear to me which ones are actually in use. From talking to the rest of the team, it is unclear to them as well! As an example, there are three different variables that all seem like they could contain the username used to connect to postgres:
database_username
secrets.postgresql.database_username
DATASERVICE_DATABASE_USERNAME
My current solution is to just populate all of these using the same values using Puppet. Down the road, it would be great to figure out which we need for which service. This bug specifically covers simplifying configuration passed to the webapp.

Pretty sure this is covered by bug #1296238. It's on my list of things to do. Probably in the next few weeks.

Yeah, this largely depends on bug 1296238 but this is more targeted towards which I'm actually using in Puppet config. Adding a dependency rather than duplicate for now.

We've gone over the configuration for the various pieces of Socorro in the Dockerized infrastructure and have solved most of these configuration-related issues. Resolving fixed.
