139844 - No chance to change the server -name for outgoing mails

Hallo,

in Mozilla 0.9.8 - 0.9.9 the last line of "Bearbeiten > Mail &
Newsgroup-Account-Einstellungen" (sorry - I work with the German / Austrian
version of Mozilla 1.0.0.RC1) you could change the default name of the server
for outgoing mails.

In Mozilla 1.0.0.RC1 someone of the Mozilla developers tried to go the way of
changing the server name with the buttom "Als Standard festlegen" down at the
frame bottom on the left side of the menu "Bearbeiten > Mail &
Newsgroup-Account-Einstellungen" (The buttom is middle one of the three buttoms:
"Account hinzufügen" - "Als Standard festlegen" - "Account entfernen"). 
But it does not work! The only effect is that the position of the e-mail
account, which is selected to be the standard server, is on top of the e-mail-
and newsserver-account-menu after a new-start of the e-mail client.

The error appears at Mozilla 1.0rc1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; de-AT;
rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417).

I dont quite follow what you are saying and this is what I have understood. 
When you open MailNewsGroups->AccountSettings and click on the Outgoing SMTP
server panel and then you Set as Default - it moves to the top? Only accounts
can be set as default and not the Smtp servers. 
It would be really helpful if you could explain it with steps.

I work with a laptop at work with mail-server 1 and at home with mail-server 2.
In Mozilla 0.9.8 / 0.9.9 there was a line in mailNewsGroups->AccountSettings
where I could change the name of the server. It was the last line in the menu.
In Mozilla 1.0.0.RC1 the line is disappeared and there is no way to change the
server names!

Instead of this line there is shown the new buttom "Als Standard festlegen" but
it does not work (there is only the effect of changing the position of the
account folders I wrote in bug notice).

I am sorry but I still dont understand what it is that you are referring to. I
assume that mail-server 1 and mail-server 2 are the two smtp servers that you
use. IF you add those two in the Outgoing SMTP server->Advanced panel then you
can switch between the two. I dont know what the last line is that you are
referring to.

You are right. 

The line "Outgoing SMTP server->Advanced panel" was in Mozilla 0.9.8 - 0.9.9
always at the end of the mail- and newsserverlist. Now it is between of them -
because of this I didn't find it.

So, You can close this bug.
