All dropdown menus are slightly to the left on macOS. It's OS specific style, so Firefox complies with this style guide as well.

But how about the inconsistency between the system preferences of Mac OS (attached below)and Firefox preferences(3.png), both are drop downs with a lot of options, on system preferences the drop down is displayed above the field but on Firefox preferences the drop down is displayed under the field. Should we consider this an issue? Thanks.
Good question. I've no idea about the initial design idea of dropdown component. However, it's unnecessary to have 100% mimicry like macOS. Original looking of dropdown is still the same comparing with Fx56 or Fx55. So I believe this isn't an issue.
