Steps to reproduce:

It is a problem not in TB itself, but rather how the bugs are labeled in Bugzilla.
Here are a couple of examples:
Bug #135535: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1355350
This very bug is reported against 52.1, the header says it was resolved in 55.
Does it mean it was fixed in 52.3?

With the bug referred to by @JorgK in c59 there, similarly, it says: fixed in 57. In a few days (weeks?) when 52.4 is out, - will it be fixed in it? or in 52.5?
The only way to figure that out it by going to the source tree, and that's a rather big waste of time and energy, and could be impractical for those who are not developers.

OK, I am going to Thunderbird's webpage. It offers 52.3 for downloading.
From there, at the top, I click on "Releases":
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
Contrary to the title, it does not show "releases", but only one release of -Beta (v56.0b)
To begin with, - these pages are very confusing. Why they don't mention different (current) family lines (OSR, Beta, maybe even Daily releaess ..)? It's been bothering me for long time: why do I need to go to Wikipedia to find out which versions are in which TB (and FF) family lines? Why that information is not available within 1 click from the "top" (of from "releases") page?

Now, back to the bug, - the question is: how is it fixed in 57 if Beta is 56? Where is the mysterious 57 where it is fixed? (Not to mention, - is it fixed in 56 or will it be fixed in 52.4? or 52.5?)

I ultimately understood the labeling of the versions. However, to a person who is not following this project closely, - these labeling is very confusing! Also, lack of release information on or linked from the "releases" page is very disappointing.
If you're interested in a certain bug, you can follow this bug. Each bug logs the landings for trunk, beta and ESR.

You can also read the release notes.

You're enquiring about bug 1355350. That was fixed in TB 52.1.1 and all following versions.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/52.1.1/releasenotes/
There's also a link that shows you bugs fixed in that release:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?list_id=13560552&o1=equals&v1=53%2B&f1=cf_tracking_thunderbird_esr52&query_format=advanced
but that's a little confusing since you also see things from TB 52.1.0.

I think in reality you're enquiring about bug 1395620.
That is fixed on the current trunk version, TB 57 Daily, and you can download and install that from here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-central/

It will be included in TB 56 beta 4, for which I don't have an ETA, and eventually in TB 52.4 or TB 52.5. Please watch the bug.

In general, the beta page https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ offers a like to the release notes "What's New" and the release page https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ does too.

I don't think we're going to change our processes here.
