When attempting to view one of the news videos it prompts you to install Real
Player - - though I did have it installed I downloaded and re-installed it and
it still prompts me to install Real Player

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on ANY news video link
2.
3.

Actual Results: Prompts for installation of Real Player
Real Player does not set up for Mozilla for some reason

Expected Results: News video to view properly
though it could be with NECN.com also

I've had problems with this site in Netscape at times also -
additionally - it doesn't seem to use my NAV when I download a file - FYI
Confirming with WinXP.

The RealPlayer is not seen in the about:plugins page.

Works just fine after I manually copy nppl3260.dll from the Components folder to
the Plugins folder. Something changed in a way we scan folders.

Another thing I noticed is that the change in the plugins folder is no longer
picked up by reloading about:plugins, I need to restart to see the change.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Right, Real8 is using the xpcom method and consequently the dll gets installed
in the components directory and not the plug-ins directory. Once we get the scan
problem worked through, this will be resolved.
