140106 - Empty sidebar and sidebar related issues.

I've tested this problem under Windows 98, 2000, and XP Pro with the same
results.  The bug is present in 1.0 RC1 and also in .99 that I know of.

When in Mail by default the sidebar is hidden (Shrunk all the way to the
bottom).  But under View -> Show/Hide -> Sidebar has a check next to it.  At
this point I can pull the sidebar seperator up to suposedly reveal the contents
of the sidebar.  But it's empty with a dark grey color.  If I go to View ->
Show/Hide -> Sidebar and unselect it then the seperator disapears but the empty
dark box remains.  Then I can reselect it and the sidebar and contents will then
appear in the dark grey area but only filling half or a partial part of the
window.  I must fully shrink the sidebar down.  Then click on the sperator and
redrag the sidebar back open to get the sidebar and its contents to display
properly.  

Finally after all of that the sidebar will only remain in a proper condition
during that execution.  If I close mail and reopen it the setting all go back to
the way they were with no sidebar.  I have to repeat the process in order to use
the sidebar.

I found a reliable way of reproducing this.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Change the mail window layout (Edit->Preferences->Mail & Newsgroups) to the
other layout (the right radio button)
2. Press OK and restart mail/news

Now there's a handle at the very left of the mail/news window, which you can
drag to the right to reveal the empty gray area. Pressing F9 once will remove
the handle and pressing F9 again will finally display the Sidebar.

This bug could have something to do with Bug 121215, might be a duplicate of it too.
