User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build ID: 20170824053622 Steps to reproduce: I used "§" as part of my Password used for IMAP authentication. See attached Picture. I entered !"§$%&/ as my Password. In the Wireshark Window you can see what got transmitted. I firstly encountered this Problem in an older Seamonkey Version. Actual results: "§" got translated to "\247" Expected results: Should have been transmitted as "§"

Sadly TB can only handle ASCII characters in passwords, § is not in the ASCII table.

Please try a Daily build of 24th Sept 2017 or later to see whether this works now. I can't test it since my provider only allows ASCII passwords including 0-9!$%()=?+#-.:~*@[]_
