On a machine with HW VP9 available (here a Dell XPS 15 9560)
Open the URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=189&v=QA8pQMJrcNY
Select 720p60
Go to full screen

Note that the frames are displayed in the wrong order.

Edge and Chrome display them perfectly.

If you disable the HW vp9 decoder then it displays fine.
Seems to happen with all 720p60 videos.
[Tracking Requested - why for this release]: it makes YouTube unwatchable really.. it jumps all over the place
happens with other streams too (480p and 360p)
(In reply to Jean-Yves Avenard [:jya] from comment #2)

I cannot notice this problem on my Dell XPS15 with the latest version of 57, 57.0b4 (64-bit).
Let's check it together tomorrow.
Tracking 57+ based on Comment 3. YouTube needs to be watchable on HW VP9.

I can easily see this problem on my Intel GPU card, Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 with full screen.
If I don't play it in full screen, it would not be so obvious.
From Blake description on IRC, what is seen is frames being dropped, making playback very jittery. Not our of order frames.

For this problem, disabling e10s makes a massive difference.
Hi Jean-Yves, do we have an owner for this bug? It seems like a must fix for 57. Is there a fix in the works?
Flags: needinfo?(jyavenard)
I do not.

I just reported the bug... It appears related to bug 1408781.

For the performance issue, it's e10s related...

Hi Milan, David, is this something you might be able to help investigate? Thanks!

I think it's a duplicate of bug 1408781, or at least the patches in bug 1408781, already uplifted to 57 should take care of it.
David can confirm.

I can't reproduce a problem on this particular video either before or after bug 1408781.

jya, or Blake, can you still reproduce this problem on the latest nightly?
Flags: needinfo?(dvander) → needinfo?(jyavenard)
I cannot see this problem on the nightly. And what I can see is like bug 1409051 or bug 1411854.
Flags: needinfo?(bwu)
haven't been able to reproduce the problem in a while...
Flags: needinfo?(jyavenard)
I am going to close this bug. Please feel free to reopen it if anyone still can see it.
