Steps to reproduce:

Remove default Youtube tile from Top Sites.
Load a youtube channel sufficient for it to be placed as a top site automatically.



Actual results:

The youtube channel is correctly added however it has a generic 'Youtube' label, there is no indication of the channel name at all.


Expected results:

Resultant tile should use the channel name for it's label.

Tracked since it's a regression. I hope we can get a fix in for this soon, a week or two from now. Otherwise there is a good chance this will be a wontfix for 57.

Hi Ed, since we chatted about AS today, I thought of pinging you regarding this bug. Is this something we plan to fix sometime soon in 57?

I believe this will be wontfix for 57. It's by design that the top site shows the domain "youtube". Not really a regression from tiles about:newtab as that would have shown "youtube.com"

This may be a new issue from https://www.youtube.com/new (material design), the pages title show the "YouTube" instead of the video title before the player loads complete.

Wontfix / dupe as there's ways to edit the title and bug 1402654 to customize more
