1403561 - Persistant Bug in Thumbnails while the HDD was at 100 % workload

Steps to reproduce:

I had the application Streamlink Twitch running along with VLC while encrypting my drive with DiskCryptor while 2 volumes where encrypted.Then i tried to move a thumbail in the sidebar after deleting another in additional thumbnails.


Actual results:

Result was that firefox didnt react anymore.The thumbnail sticked on my cursor.I used the taskmanager to kill firefox then.After restarting firefox didnt respond again so i used the taskmanager again. After that firefox did start up normal except there was the thumbnail (not clickabel) sticking in the middle of the screen. I started thunderbird and the same thumbnail sticked in the middle. And still does.This sounds like a gamebreaker bug with stack overflow be able to perma manipulate firefox at least to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.Feel free to contact me about the issue.

Hey flo89123, 

It seems you're using an older version of Firefox, could you please update to the latest Release (56.0) and try to reproduce the issue again? 
I'm not sure I understand what "additional thumbnails" means, where is that in Firefox (a screen recording would help greatly)? Also from where (desktop, a different window, a different program) did you try to move a thumbnail and in which sidebar?

Hello there my installatation of Windows broke and theres a little to no chance in ever recovering an broken encrypted drive for me. I dont understand what you mean with update Firefox i  usually  download directly from the homepage of Firefox at one point in the recent past i used the nightbuild but im almost sure it wasnt at that time.I had a screen capture on my broken drive well that doesnt serve any but there wasnt realy much to see beside a thumbnail floating in the middle of the screen in any firefox application i launch eg firefox  or thunderbird.

With additional thumbnails i mean a subfolder in the thumbnail structure in german its translated to "additional thumbnails" eg
"weitere Lesezeichen" if you press ctrl shift and b.I had the sidebaron at the left side wich can be be done by clicking the thumbnails button in the bar then selecting "show thumbnail sidebar" thats were the error occured from.I tried to move the thumbnail from or into (cant remember) "weitere Lesezeichen" into another structure maybe a sub structure of any of those thumbnail folders.

I could recreate the error but if theres any other way by not blocking my computer for estimated 20 hours from using any programm with high capacity needs i would appreciate it. diskcryptor is an easy to use open source full volume / drive encryption programm only thing that remotly matters what can be configured in there in my opinion is the encryption method serpent.If it is possible try reproducing the error if it does fail i will gladly try to help after.

This bug as described affects version 51, which is too old to do anything about. Please reopen if you can reproduce the bug in 56 or later.
