Steps to reproduce:
The address bar looks very strange in the F57 Beta - it always has spacing on the left and right that does not collapse down when you resize the window.
Right click on blank and then you can choose to remove that flexible blank.

Yes, this is by design, and not a bug. As noted, you can remove the items in customize mode or through the context menu, if you choose.
