(Reporter: hwjeastd07, Unassigned, NeedInfo)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.101 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

1:open link : https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html
2: test webrtc audio

Actual results:

poor sound quality, too noise

Expected results:

good sound quality, no noise
Component: Untriaged → WebRTC: Audio/Video
Product: Firefox → Core
Summary: webrtc → webrtc poor sound quality, too noise
We are experiencing this problem as well with Firefox 56 in several WebRTC-based applications.
It is confirmed to be only Firefox issue, which is not reproducible in Chrome.
Seems to be an issue with performance, not only audio.
During a call when both audio+video is shared, audio is fine at first, then gets some static noise which increases with time. Eventually Firefox CPU consumption raises up to 70-80% and the whole system starts lagging.
I'm duping this to bug 1405893 since that one has more information.

Hi huangwenjun06, thanks for filing! Sorry for the late reply. With the second report, the chance of a regression has gone up.

We need more info to reproduce, and hope you can help. What version of Firefox is having this problem? What platform?

Can you do us a favor and try Firefox 55, Firefox 56 and Firefox 57 to see if the problem is worse in one versus the others?

Knowing if this is a regression would help us tremendously in prioritizing a rapid fix for this issue.

There's also a regression tool we use internally to find a regression range, http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ if you're up for it.

But just knowing the results from 55, 56 and 57 is the most important, thanks!

Hi huangwenjun06, could you try again with the latest 57 beta and Nightly? - https://nightly.mozilla.org/

There's a chance this got duped incorrectly, and should be re-opened.
