User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build ID: 20170824053622 Steps to reproduce: This issue concerns Firefox in German with enabled contextual identities UI. It was already raised for the Containers extension, but the translation icon seems to be coming from core Firefox. See https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/issues/838 To reproduce the issue: - Open a page in the personal ("Privat") contextual identity - Right click on any link to open the context menu Actual results: The translation of these two entries is very similar: - "Link in neuem Privat-Tab öffnen" ("Open link in new private tab") - "Link in neuem privaten Fenster öffnen" ("Open link in new private window") Expected results: Apart from minor capitalization and punctuation differences, both entries look very similar. It sounds like both options are referring to private browsing mode. This is misleading to users who are accustomed to private windows and might expect that "private tabs" are the same thing just for tabs. In German, "Privat" is a good translation (as antonym to "Arbeit" ("work")) but to avoid confusion a better translation might be "Persönlich", which is a more direct translation of "personal". The default fingerprint icon (that is e.g. displayed in the URL bar when a page is opened in the personal container) is probably supposed to present something like identity but since that symbol is also often used in the context of privacy, it doesn't really help here to show that the personal container is not about privacy. I suspect that a similar issue could exist with other languages too. I think it would help to choose another icon, e.g. icon of a user (something that looks like U+1F464) or anything that better represents personal but not private activity. Whether the icon fits or not is a bit subjective, but the translation should really be changed in my opinion.
