Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Q312461) BuildID: 20020418 As soon as I launch Mozilla, my system begins thrashing. Mozilla never finishes launching. If I check my Task Manager, I can see that the mozilla process is allocating about 1 MB each second, and continues to do so until my system crashes. I have observed this identical behavior in one other application, this was Norton Antivirus 2000, which is known to be incompatible with XP. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Mozilla 2. 3. Actual Results: System thrashes. Other programs work, but slowly. Eventually the system complains that virtual memory is too low (I have 288MB RAM installed). Expected Results: Launch I used to be able to run Netscape 6 just fine. When I first installed Mozilla on this system, which was about 2 months ago, I had this problem immediately. Once it happened, I was no longer able to run Netscape 6 either.
Reporter: Please run "mozilla -profilemanager" and create a new profile.
Severity: blocker → critical
Creating a new profile resolves the problem. Thanks! So, is this a bug?
