I disabled browser.newtabpage.enhanced in the old new page. But when I enable activity stream, it shows some ads of youtube, amazon, etc. I don't want these. Activity stream should respect the pref and automatically dismiss those sites.
The enhanced pref was primary to remove sponsored content from Tiles about:newtab. The default sites are not sponsored.

Well, I don't care whether you receive some money for the ads or you show them for free. I just don't want ads.

If you don't think it should be showing you links to sites, you can turn off the Top Sites section from the customization gear in the top corner. If you don't want specific sites, you can dismiss them.
