Steps to reproduce:
1. Start latest Nightly with a new profile on Win 7 or 10
2. Close the browser window by pressing X(top right corner)
3. Launch Nightly again using the same profile like at step 1
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 couple of times

Actual:
5. The address bar is displayed focused(as fake) when starting FF, but in fact it's not - when trying to input anything using the keyboard(press any key), nothing happens (cannot write anything in the bar) and the focus seems to be in a different location(using tab - not working).

Expected:
5. Each time FF launches, the address bar is focused and the bar accepts input provided via keyboard.

It sounds like the window just doesn't have focus at all. Does it?

Looks like it, even if the bar it's displayed as focused - blue border and input text cursor/caret is present. The address bar doesn't receives any input from the keyboard (as if not focused). I hope that this additional info helps. Thank you

Tracy, would you please take a shpt at reproducing this? Thanks.

I am unable to reproduce this with Latest Nightly, 20171024 on Win 10.

Deac, does the address bar eventually get focus? If so, how much time does it take to become active.

Hi Tracy,
The address bar it's not getting focused in the same instance (not a time related problem)

Managed to reproduce the issue again today on my machine(100% repro rate), using latest Nightly 58.0a1 Build ID 20171024100135 on Win 10 x 64
Additional Notes:
- The bar is getting focused if the bar or the page is selected/clicked with the mouse
- The issue is reproducible on 2 out of 3 machines(with same OS and similar hardware configs)
- I am using USB keyboard
Hope this helps. Thank you

Deac, can you try ctrl-n to see if a new window experiences the same issue? Also, can you reproduce in Firefox's safe mode?

Hi Jim,
> Deac, can you try ctrl-n to see if a new window experiences the same issue?
Pressing Ctrl-N will not open a new window as the focus is not on the browser page (nothing happens)

> Also, can you reproduce in Firefox's safe mode?
I am always using a new/clean profile when reproducing this issue.

I will create and attach a screen record, maybe it will help to reproduce this on your side. Thank you

When you launch from double clicking on a desktop icon or clicking a taskbar shortcut, without going through the profile manager, can you still reproduce?

This stopped happening with v58 for me. (Windows 8.1 64-bit)
Sorry, I spoke too soon.
While it happens less than before, it still happens every now and then. (like 1 time out of 5).
