Steps to reproduce:

When a received email has an attachment (like a PDF) and I double click it, the focus is not on the PDF read (Foxit reader). When I press ctrl/P for printing the PDF (that is on top), the email gets printed.


Actual results:

I have Thunderbird 52.3.0


Expected results:

Focus should not remain on Thunderbird (as it used work in older versions).

Nope. 

I first tested Thunderbird 52.6.0 under Windows 10 x64 using Nitro Reader version 5.5.9.2 as the PDF viewer utility. It launched the viewer, changed the focus to it, and correctly displayed the PDF files contents. I re-tested using 59.0b1 , it worked fine too. 

I then installed Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.1049 (without any shell extensions, plugins etc.) and re-tested. It worked fine too.
