Steps to reproduce:

why do the hell when i close firefox with one tab pinned and the i reopen it i alway get a disturbing and time wasting blank tab?????????????? regardless the choice in preference for when browser start???



Actual results:

firefox according to the screen shot should show my home page when it starts even if i have one previously pinned tab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have this problem after the latest update, but it's not just having a pinned tab. I've tried it with a new profile, and it's not enough to reproduce the behaviour.

To add:

-  disabling addons on my usual profile does not solve the issue.
- adding a pinned tab on a clean profile does not make the issue appear.

So I'm assuming it's something related to my user prefs?

I can reproduce this issue with my personal profile on Windows 8.1 x64 with latest Nightly Build ID: 20171016220427.

I have used mozregression to find a regression range and here is the result:

This was fixed by back out on bug 1409395.

The culprit was bug 1407351, and bug 1407351 comment 28 explains the cause. I've fixed it and will generate try builds before relanding it. If you could, please test the try builds (posted on bug 1407351 comment 34) to make sure the problem is fixed.
