Details

Environment: Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (Android 7.0); Build: Nightly 58.0a1 (2017-10-17); Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch fennec with a clean profile; 2. Go to History panel; 3. Tap on "Web sites you visited most recently show up here. Psst: using a New Private Tab won't save your history". Expected result: A new private tab is opened. Actual result: The Custom menu is opened.

Unsure if this is intended to open the menu for the user to check? open a new private tab directly sounds straightforward to me, but still ni UX for comment.

I have the same expectation as you -> open a new private tab directly after pressing it.

I wasn't able to find a valid regression range for this issue. Went as back as FF 49 and the issue is still reproducible. And older builds are crashing. From bug 1091461 seems that version 36 was affected too.
[triage] Non-critical.
