Details
Now that test-verify supports Android, we should be able to apply test-verify to robocop tests.

as robocop has a shorter lifespan in general, do you think there is value in working on this?

I'm not sure. afaik, there is no interest in using robocop for geckoview, and there has been talk about replacing robocop for fennec ui tests for as long as I can remember. However, robocop remains the only ui test framework in use for fennec. There have been two new robocop tests added in 2018. It's certainly not a high priority, and a candidate for wontfix.
