I updated to Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/58.0a1 BuilID: 20171021030201

Signed on to Chat and saw no topics or text in channel windows.

Error console showed:

This is because of bug 1407719. I already asked for back-out.

No longer depends on: 1407719
Fixed by backout in bug 1407719. Killing chat is severe enough to justify a backout.
