Steps to reproduce:
Using POP accounts
Actual results:
Thunderbird is checking for new mail even both checkboxes "check at startup" and "check periodically" are turned off.
It just notifies about new messages, but downloading them only if "automatically download new messages" checkbox is enabled.
It checks very often, did not measured, but I always receive new mail on accounts, that are disabled for auto checking.
The problem exist very long time, since I used 45 series, now it still persist on 52.0
My profile dir is many years old. How to disable auto checking for pop accounts?
Expected results:
Do not check undesired accounts

Can you test on a new profile? Start "thunderbird -p" to get the profile manager.
