From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020426 BuildID: 2002042603 Lotus Domino uses a set of java applets to make mail available across the web. With this recent version of Mozilla and NPOJI600.dll dated 11/26/01 in the plugins directory, the applet mostly works. But it doesn't always let me assign keyboard focus to one-line fields like "to:". After leaving Domino (say, going to bugzilla!), the keyboard still can't enter data into fields like "search". However, if I open the Java Console and do a garbage collection (g), it works again. (This is with Win98 SE.) I don't think this is the same problem as 133223, which might be hitting me on a different machine. On that machine, running Win98 FE, after running a java applet (which often fails), Mozilla loses its ability to fill in its own window. Buttons show up when you mouse-over and stay up, but the main rendering never happens (transparent, not blank). This requires a Windows reboot to fix. I'd enter this as a separate bug but it sounds too dupe-ish. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load java applet from web site (notably a Domino mail server) 2.Try to input text into one-line field (multiline boxes seem to work) 3. Actual Results: You can type but nothing shows up. Yet if you click on a selector field where the typed letter moves the selector, it works, so clearly the keyboard is focused; it just won't enter text reliably. Expected Results: Text entered normally Can't give you the Domino url because it's internal-only (firewalled, intranet domain).
This also happens on the Mac; see http://www.asrt.org/ for example. Using Mac OS X 10.2.5 and 1.4 alpha.
Related to bug 120921?
I have experienced this in the past, but not for an extreamly long time. Is this still a problem for you reporter?
unable to reproduce on current builds with jre 1.4.2 and 1.5 beta.

I'd forgotten about this one ... but filed bug 247140 the other day. But looking at this one again, they appear to be separate issues.
