Step to reproduce:-
Go to https://www.digicert.com/ssl-certificate-installation.htm
Visit a hyperlink.
Notice the delay/lag while opening the link in new tab.

I cannot reproduce the issue, but look like each link has a click event handler probably for analytics, which may delay opening the link. This issue can happen on any site using the same technique.

I'm also unable to reproduce. Swarnava, if you're still able to reproduce this problem, can you please try capturing a performance profile? See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/Reporting_a_Performance_Problem for instructions.

I think that can happen if you have a Private Browsing window open - we don't want to collect samples that might contain sensitive data when you have a PB window open.

Granted, the UI in the Gecko Profiler Add-on could probably help the user understand this is what is going on. I've filed https://github.com/devtools-html/Gecko-Profiler-Addon/issues/96 for that.
