From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020428 BuildID: mozilla-source-1.0.rc1 can't access home dir from file/save as for any document displayed Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. display a jpg 2. try to save it 3. eat your own shorts Actual Results: what happen Expected Results: access my ~ to save the damned file this, and the configuration unreachability bug still not fixed.
This worksforme on Linux... What steps _exactly_ are happening after step 1 in your description? Here are my steps: 1) Open "File" menu. 2) Select "Save As". 3) Type "~/foo.jpg" in the "filename" textfield in the filepicker. 4) Click "OK" on the filepicker. If you do this, what happens? Do you get an error message? Does the filepicker close? If it closes, is the file saved?
when i try to save, it selects an empty directory, so i cannot save there, nor go upwards. so i click on the home icon, then it says i "do not have the permissions necessary to view this directory" ! if i try to save in the void directory, nothing happen.
out of curiousity, what are the permissions on $HOME ?
I guess that was it ;)
