Details
A lot of tweets contain images. Actually TB shows only links to the images (or the tweets with the image) and after clicking the link, we need to switch to a browser and then back again to TB. It would be great, if the images would be shown directly inline or, if this uses too much space, show them in a popup when hovering the link.

I'd be a fan of this too (and showing tweets inline, like the website does, but that's probably a separate issue).
I don't know what the security ramifications of this are, but this is similar to bug 955011, that might have some thoughts in it.

Maybe this could be put in as a disabled option in the account settings, with a warning about the security risks.
Another idea, could also whitelist Twitter's and their CDN's domains so you would only be viewing what they're hosting which would be better on a security level than giving it all access to the internet.
