It would be good to have an --with-sccache option for symmetry with --with-ccache.
--with-ccache=sccache does what you want.

I would just as soon rename --with-ccache to --with-compiler-cache and make --with-ccache an alias to it for backwards compatibility.

That sounds sensible. (Maybe with a warning to point --with-ccache users to --with-compiler-cache.)
