The letter is localized. I made a copy of it so I can give you access and make changes directly if you prefer.

*Deadline*: Nov 3 (review complete, including reconcile the differences between you and the original translator).

The next task after this will be reviewing it on staging server.
@Richardo and Ángela, if I don't hear from you today, we will consider the copy provided by the PR team good to go. Thank you!
I've added a couple of minor comments.

BTW, I can't provide a SLA on my volunteering, sorry. Sometimes I will be able to respond in minutes, but most of the times it can take several days.
@rickiees, I take it that you are done with the review? Thank you so much. It has been crazy tight waiting for the content to be approved for localization. Now we are down to the final stretches.

I will move on to the next step: staging.
Yes, those comments in the doc are the only things that I find that could enhance the translation. The missing dot is clear, removing the article before "Internet" is something we all can agree to do to avoid discrepancies, and the verb form is a bit subjective, that's why I asked Angela.
In the interest of time (late at where you both are and end of the week), I made the update based on our recommendations. Let's go with that.

@Craig, you have access to the single language doc. It's ready for staging.

In case that's still feasible, I'm happy to let the original translators evaluate my suggestions.
There's some bug in my code that is preventing the page from displaying on the demo server, though all the tests run and it works locally. I'm sure we can get it fixed on Monday and the URL will be https://bedrock-demo-craigcook.us-west.moz.works/es-ES/firefox/57.0/whatsnew/

Meanwhile I'll attach a screenshot for initial review until the demo server is working properly.

@Ricardo, could you check the mockup to confirm all looks good and no more change is needed? I will let everyone know once the server works properly to do final check.

Sorry, I read Craig's comment, but didn't notice the attachment.

The first paragraph ends with "...en cómo experimentamos internet." To me, it would look better capitalizing Internet. However, I didn't notice during the review, and it is not wrong per se, so it is up to you to change it or keep it as is.

Also, just so you know, as we've found the same "Fast, for good" expression in some projects in Pontoon, we've came to conclude that you're playing with a double meaning in the "for good" expression: certainly/seriously, and forever/from now on. The Spanish translation provided by the agency used the second one (which serves here); in some other places the first one would be better, but I can't come up with a unique translation to Spanish that means both things at time, and this might happen with other languages too. If we're wrong with the double meaning, please let us know.

@Ricardo, let us know what you think the audience would like to see. It is a challenge for most communities/languages. For this particular string, it appears in multiple web pages. This is how other communities have translated. If you read other languages, this may help you decide: https://transvision.mozfr.org/string/?entity=mozilla_org/firefox/hub/home-quantum.lang:fa16c3d2a53d13deee9161abe039ec20&repo=mozilla_org.

I'm not very good reading other languages, but I've found some translations that would sound catchy in Spanish:

- ast: Rápidu pa bien (a very literal translation of "Fast for good", but it really means something in Spanish).
- fr: Toujours plus rapide ("Always faster").
- it: Veloce. Per il bene comune ("Fast. For everyone's welfare/benefit").

French perhaps is a simpler message. Asturian means something like "Fast in the good sense of the word". Italian separates the speed feature and the good purposes surrounding Mozilla, making it clearer, but it is also longer and split it in two sentences.

For comparison, Spanish es-AR, es-CL and es-MX have translated it with the meaning of "Fast, forever". es-ES used "Faster, forever". BTW, I think it would be better we standardize the translation of this string across four variants.

I guess it depends of what are the most important messages you intend to communicate, that you won't like to get lost in translation. Perhaps en-US should stick as it is right now, and provide some of the reverse translations to en-US of the more appealing languages as a comment to inspire the remaining translators.

I'm not sure that I'm being very helpful here. I'm going to quote this comment in our internal mailing list where I've already raised the topic of translating this motto.

Just out of curiosity, why has been this bug resolved as invalid?

Oops, that was my mistake when I added your name in NI and changed the setting below. Could you let me know if what we have in the gdoc is acceptable as is? I wish we could have more time to think about this but staging the content is manual so we need you to make a decision now. Thank you!
> Could you let me know if what we have in the gdoc is acceptable as is?

It is.
Thanks for confirming. Have you had a chance to verify here: https://bedrock-demo-craigcook.us-west.moz.works/es-ES/firefox/57.0/whatsnew/? Dev staged the content 5 days ago. If you made changes since, I will have him update this. We are almost there. Let's try to wrap this up today.
Yes, I reviewed it, both the mockup in the attachment and the web page (I don't remember noticeable differences among them), and everything seems fine, thank you.
Thank you for your patience! We are done...for this one!
