1413652 - IP address 159.89.13.82 is reporting it's in Canada

I'm testing a German proxy. Google and everything else thinks the IP address:

159.89.13.82

is in Germany, but when I hit location.services.mozilla.com/v1/country, it says I'm in Canada.

165.227.171.103 says I am in the US, but everything else says it is Germany.

159.89.13.106 also says Canada, but it is Germany. Looks like the whole 159.89.13.* range

159.89.3.218 reports as Canada (It's germany)

:jason This looks like we're using an out of date geoip database from maxmind.  When I check on https://www.maxmind.com/en/geoip-demo - the demo shows Germany correctly for the IP filed in this bug.

cc'ing ckolos since he is the primary ops of location today. We package up the geoip database into a RPM and distribute it via private yum repo. I am assuming this is currently getting installed at instance creation but not updated at any frequency. The latest database is available via our yum repo.

We use this data for some business related things, so we definitely wany to make sure it is updated on a regular basis.

I'm happy to update the DB as needed, however, if something goes wrong with the upgrade I have no options available to me for further troubleshooting. Afaik, Location has no support staff other than Cloud-Ops at this time.

:mkaply can you try this again?  The geoip database was updated today and our tests show that 159.89.13.82
 is now being located in Frankfurt, Germany.

Unfortunately my proxy service isn't giving me that IP address range today, but everything I try is saying Germany, so I think we're good.

Is this something that we can schedule to be updated on a regular basis?

Or should we just open a bug every so often?
