From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0+) Gecko/20020430 BuildID: 2002043010 The highlighted string subsection in the url text box of the navigation toolbar is ignored and the full text highlighted when the menu pop-up associated with the right mouse button on Win2K systems is selected. The entire string becomes highlighted and the substring I want to remove is expanded to include the entire string Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.place text in the text box. Doesn't matter what kind of text. 2. drag the cursor over a substring to highlight it. 3. Now depress the right mouse button as if to cut and note that the entire string is now highlighed instead of the intended substring. So, for instance, if I had cut from an email a url such as http://www.news.com/blahblahblah and wanted to remove the "blahblahblah" so I could then select GO and get to the main web page, I would not be able to simply cut "blahblahblah" out of the string but would have to use the backspace or delete key. Actual Results: Entire text string becomes highlighted Expected Results: Left the highlighting alone This hasn't worked in many moons.
Don't remember the bug number, but this is a dupe.
Right you are: bug 96446.
