Unable to reproduce this, linux trunk build 2002-04-30-10. Tom Jac, could you please look in Preferences > Navigator > Helper Applications? Do you have "application/octet-stream" listed in that section by any chance?
No, there is nothing like this. The section is empty (just text/html).
OK... could you possibly email me the following files? ~/.mime.types ~/.mailcap /etc/mime.types /etc/mailcap from your system? You _are_ still seeing the problem, right? :)
Tom, thanks for the files. Nothing out of the ordinary there.... (.exe mapped to application/octet-stream and application/x-msdos-program, neither of which has a handler set up...). And I still cannot reproduce this.... :(
Operating System: Windows 98 I have a similar problem, but I don't know if it's directly related to this bug. When I am at download.com, the files won't download. An example link is here: http://download.com.com/3000-2139-10103737.html Steps to reproduce: 1) Visit that URL. 2) Click on the Download Now text link. 3) Notice that the page seems to refresh (and ads are reacquired), but that no download starts. This works in Internet Explorer, and I've used download.com in previous versions of Mozilla. I just upgraded from RC1 to RC2 to see if it had been fixed, but it's broken in at least both of those. This may be a change on download.com's servers, however, and not some form of regression.
WFM with trunk 2002073022, linux. reporter (Tom Jac): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for example, 1.1beta)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
no answer.
