The table includes various asterisks, but nowhere on the page is mentioned, what these mean.
You are absolutely right that the asterisks are not very helpful. They mean that there are support notes available or that sub features of a feature aren't supported, so support of a feature might not be 100% complete.

Good news is that we are redesigning the compat tables. See our beta testing announcement https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/beta-testing-new-compatability-tables/21269. So, once the redesign ships this problem will go away. I will mark this bug as fixed, as we have addressed this issue already. Just stay tuned a bit longer until we actually roll it out.
