User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build ID: 20170713130618 Steps to reproduce: I placed a shortcut to a website at the Windows 7 Desktop long time ago. When I doubleclick on it, the actual version of Firefox (64 Bit) starts. Actual results: The address line of Firefox contains the address of the shortcut: "c:\*.url". Although the correct website is opened it is being displayed witout any graphics and die links do not react. This permanent error happened weeks ago for the first time just after updating Firefox to the latest Version. After reinstalling 55.0b9 (64-Bit) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-Bit the correct behavior is performed with the unchanged link Expected results: The address line of Firefox should contain the address of the website I want to visit. And the website should be opened in the usual "interactive" mode.
Does this occur after you update to Firefox 57?

With this new version everything seems to be OK. We can close the case. Thank you for the support. By the way - I found out that I was operating with firefox Beta Versions. I don't know why. This may have been the reason for the "old" bug. Thank you! Juergen

Can you explain what you mean by having a desktop shortcut that points to "c:\*.url" ? This doesn't make any sense.
