Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170329151003 Steps to reproduce: Lately just starting Firefox, there's a good chance that the mouse will freeze. (Synaptics trackpad) What is UNUSUAL about this freeze and ones way long ago is that Control-OPT-T will not bring up the command window. With past freezing events which were fixed, it was possible to recover using: "modprobe -r psmouse" and "modprobe psmouse" Using Vivaldi 1.9 until it's fixed. Mouse froze yesterday a few times and a few days prior. Required re-boot to fix. Actual results: Could not move mouse pointer. Could not execute Control-alt-t. Expected results: Mouse should work.

Thanks for reporting this. On which websites did the issue happen? Could you please try with safe mode and see if it's reproducible?

I'll ask around and see if people have thoughts on what could be causing this. You're reporting this from 52; do you see the same behaviour with 57 (try with a new profile if you can).

Sorry for the late reply. Things were going really well until TODAY. No mouse freezes with Firefox. So, website was gmail while composing mail. == I've been running the live version of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from a CD. The latest Firefox gets loaded from a script. Flash is installed. Occasionally one other add-on is installed and that's the one that makes copying URLs' to not contain the google added stuff. The computer is a Toshiba Satellite A665 series. Most annoying is the lack of recovery with CTRL-T and opening up a console window. LTS off of CD won't run forever. The machine may shut down on it's own. .xsession-errors (filename) gets huge or the CD light keeps blinking. It happened on other A665 series laptops too. The less memory, the faster it dies. The freezing mouse bug in Firefox existed long ago and CTRL-T worked.

Do you still see the issue using a current version?
