home does not clear favicon for some sites

Steps to reproduce:
Alternative 1:
* Went to https://www.reddit.com/
* Pressed alt-home
Alternative 2:
* Went to https://www.reddit.com/
* Clicked home icon
Actual results:
The tab changed to "New Tab" which is correct, however the previous site's favicon remained.
Pressing "home" a second time, then clears the favicon correctly.
This does not happen to all sites, most clear correctly, only a few keep the old favicon there.
Expected results:
The favicon should be cleared on the first click/change to "new tab".
My apologies, does not reproduce in safe mode. May be add-on related.
