I'm running the latest Nightly. Just now I exited Nightly, rebooted my computer (Dell XPS13), which applied some Windows software updates, and restarted Nightly. Nightly came back up with only my pinned tabs. I had maybe 20-30 other, normal tabs split between two windows. The other window (with no tabs) did not open at all. My history seems good, but my recently closed tabs and recently closed windows lists are empty. I tried copying previous.js and previous.jsonlz4 from sessionstore-backups over my sessionstore.js and sessionstore.jsonlz4 files, but it did nothing (however by that point I had restarted Nightly a couple times to see if it would fix the problem, so I'm not sure if my backups were still from before the reboot).
This has happened several times on restart now, persisting to today's Nightly.
Well, seems somehow my "When Nightly starts" option was switched to "Show your home page", which would explain this. I didn't realize pinned tabs would be kept in this scenario (although that makes sense), so I didn't automatically think to check my options.
